This is the day I looked up at a sky so cloudless, blue, and brilliant, that my brain couldn't wrap itself around the terrible thing that just happened. This is the day I listened to my normally stoic friend weep uncontrollably because her husband hadn't found a way out of the city yet. This is the day I packed up boxes of medical supplies for my doctor to take to the Liberty Science Center where he would wait for the overflow of injured that never came. This is the day every radio station turned to static except one which broadcast off the Empire State building, but no music was playing. This is the day that so many from my home town did
